  1. Match report

After a midweek cup game against Hollandia in Hoorn today a league home game against VVV Venlo. The cup game was rescheduled because PSV thought the boys should have a week off during the autumn break and not play a game 170 km there and 170 km back. This match, by the way, the boys finished with an easy 0-6 victory. On the field along the IJsselmeer the boys showed with good football that they were a size too big for the amateurs of Hollandia. But today VVV Venlo, PSV still has a score to settle with them, they recently played a draw against the North Limburgers at a tournament in Grubbenvorst. But from minute 1, PSV shows that there is nothing to get in Eindhoven today. In the first minute it is Ruben who beats everyone but his shot goes just wide. Just after that it is Matheo who tries his luck with a ball to Jaivy, but he is offside. Then it is Shijon who gets past everyone but the goalkeeper stands in the way, but then 10 seconds later it is finally close, Shijon manages to find the net in the 16th minute. PSV is better than VVV but because VVV is playing pretty grouped it is difficult for PSV to get through. In the 23 minute it is Ruben who immediately puts pressure on the VVV defense, which the Limburgers cannot cope with. By playing the ball to the goalkeeper they think they can solve it, but Chaid sees through this and is faster than the goalkeeper and only has to work the ball into the empty goal so 2-0. 1 Minute later the 3-0 can already be put on the scoreboard, a perfectly played attack via several drives reaches Chahid who works the ball masterfully behind the goalkeeper. In the 29 minute it is again Chahid who completes his hat-trick, Ruben comes through on the side, passes the ball, which is slightly changed in direction but still ends up at the feet of Chahid, and this one is on target today so 4-0 and immediately after that rest.
Now this is the third game in a week, and we are curious to see if we can continue the high level of play in the second half. Immediately a quick break from PSV, Jaivy sees Ruben standing free so moves the ball to the other side of the field, Ruben has seen that the goalkeeper is far from his goal so he tries it in one go, but unfortunately the VVV goalkeeper is back just in time. Unfortunately the referee blows the whistle for every little duel, so there is a lot of delay in the match and we have little effective playing time. This certainly does not help PSV's fast-paced play. After an attack by Jaivy, he gets the ball in front of the goal, but everyone from PSV is just a step too late. Furthermore, there are some small chances for PSV, but unfortunately the level of play is not reached in the second half. Could it be fatigue after a tough week? Now a few more days of training and then a week of well-deserved vacation for the PSV U13 players. After a few months we can conclude that great strides have been made, a high level has been achieved in the last few games and they are rightly the proud list leader of the league. All in all, everyone involved with the team can be proud of this great team, after the vacations we will be back in full force, with a few tough opponents on the schedule where they can prove themselves again. To the players and parents a happy vacation, enjoy it and return healthy and rested.
