PSV generally had more ball possession, especially in the build-up, but in doing so they struggled to reach the midfielders. A sloppy pass in the build-up also allowed Willem II to score 0-1. Only in the 2nd half did PSV manage to get the ball to the forward players and eventually make it 1-1. Despite PSV keeping more ball possession there were few chances. Willem II made it 1-2 after sloppy defending but PSV still came alongside in the final minute.
