    PSV O14 in the lead

Saturday, February 15, the league match at home against AZ was scheduled. These teams meet regularly, and every time they are exciting matches, in which both teams do not differ much from each other. So was the game played last Saturday, two teams not much different from each other, but this time it was PSV that kept the points in Eindhoven.

PSV started the match well, the defense stood well as it had done in recent weeks. With some nice football, PSV was the side with the biggest claim to a goal in the first half. This could have happened in the first minute, but Robin van Duiven 's good header went just wide. AZ's first effort was in the 15th minute, a shot that went just wide. In the 17th minute, PSV did score. It was Jayden Etienne who advanced along the sideline from behind with the ball. Arriving at the back line there was only one play-off opportunity, the ball passed in front of the goal, Eus Waayers was well inside and could easily run the ball in. After this goal AZ started to put more pressure forward, they changed a lot of positions in midfield, this took some getting used to. But slowly PSV got a grip on the game. A minute before the end, AZ got the goal they had been looking for. The only mistake in the first half was an immediate hit, a return ball that was a little too soft was intercepted and worked in. As a result, both teams went into halftime with a 1-1 score.

In the sixth minute after halftime, Nicolas Verkooijen managed to put the lead back in Eindhoven's favor. A cross from Raf van de Riet was actually a bit too far, but Nicolas was in the right place, did not hesitate, took the ball on the slipper in one go and the ball flew unstoppable into the goal. After about ten minutes AZ equalized again, again a return ball that was too soft was intercepted again. And again a goal was scored, so PSV had to hunt again. In the 57th minute, Onesime was able to play himself free on the edge of the penalty area by willpower and physical strength, saw Jordy Bawuah standing free, played the ball, Jordy remained very cool and managed to work the ball in. With this new 3-2 lead, PSV did not give anything away anymore. Onesime missed an opportunity by missing a penalty. Onesime also hit the post from a difficult angle. A few minutes before the end of the match it was Eus who put a free kick from about twenty meters into the far corner of the goal.

So a nice 4-2 victory for PSV O15, who will play another friendly against Willem II on Thursday, after which they will be off for a good week to regain their strength. After that, Ajax will visit on March 7 and this match will be all about first place in the league.
