The last match before the winter break. Actually a game for the best (as they say) and for ADO the only thing that matters is if Groningen wins in Nijmegen. But soon it is clear that the danger does not come from Nijmegen for ADO. So a nice game of football in which both teams can play freely. And so to begin with, I would say. But today is really the day of St. Joris who has his hands full with this game. A dragon of a match. The first half from our side is still reasonable but the second half beats everything. One moment we do not want to forget is when Sam turns and hops on the edge of the penalty area and drives the ball hard into the top corner. The ADO goalkeeper was staring open-mouthed and had no chance at all. What a brilliant goal. On the other hand, we also slept twice on a cross and a corner by ADO and so gave away the win (which nobody really deserved) to ADO.
A game to quickly forget but certainly also to learn from because this way results in the champions pool will be hard to come by. But we end the first half with fifth place and so the intention succeeded because at the end of the day we are training, right.
Afterwards we close the year 2014 in the canteen during a social gathering with players, staff and parents.
