  1. Match report

On a freezing cold morning the boys of PSV F1 played against Nuenen, Sem's old club. Because PSV will be registered as E3 after the winter break, this was the last official match as F-pupil for everyone.
In the run-up to this match F1 was dealt a huge blow when it was announced that Brent's hip injury is so serious that he will not be able to play this season. A heavy blow for the players, coaches and parents of PSV F1, but even more of course for "Brentje" who we hereby wish all the best. Furthermore, Kyan was rested to fully recover from a hematoma in his leg, and Davy also dropped out injured in the warm-up.
The 8 remaining players were instructed to be on the move a lot, keeping in mind that the 100 goal mark was in sight. To do so, they would have to score 12 times, a number that not many people beforehand took into account given Nuenen's play from the first game.
Not long after kickoff, Sem managed to open the scoring by working in a cross from Arne from close range. Both players claimed further leading roles in the first half. It was Arne who scored twice from a free kick and a corner. Moments later the same Arne was at the preparation of Sem's 2nd goal. The most beautiful goal was the 5-0, which meant a hat-trick for Sem. This was an attack, set up by Arne and continued in one fluent move by Bryan towards the released Sem. Just before half time Arne also scored his hat trick with a dry long distance shot. The score was 6-0 and on track to reach 100.
At the beginning of the second half the schedule to reach 100 was seriously delayed. It was Nuenen who took control for a while. A long-distance shot could only just be handled by Merijn, but the ball fell to a Nuenen player who scored 6-1. Moments later Merijn had to do it again and with a couple of great saves he was able to distinguish himself in a positive way today. Meanwhile, PSV got the seventh goal but failed to score. A high ball that seemed to disappear into the goal was spectacularly headed backwards out of the goal by a Nuenen player.
Well into the second half, it was once again Arne who managed to finish off a nice pass from Joey. With this, the goal scoring was immediately back. Sem put Joop in position (8-1), Joey scored after preparation from Joop (9-1), Arne nodded a cross in with his head (10-1) and Arne forced a defender to score an own goal (11-1). PSV had 1 more chance in the final minute to still get the 100th, but Sem's shot disappeared just wide of the goal.
With this, PSV F1 closed a successful first half of the season in a fine way, and can start preparing for playing against E-pupils.

Goals today: Arne (5x), Sem (3x), Joop, Joey and an own goal.

    Goals PSV F1: Arne (22), Joop (19), Gregory (13), Sem (12), Davy (10), Tijn (8), Brent (6), Joey (6), Bryan (1), Merijn (1), own goal (1).
    PSV F1: 10 played, 30 points, goal difference 99-8 (+91)
