PSV F1 played its first practice match of the new 2011-2012 season last weekend. Opponent at the Herdgang was the Belgian Bocholt. It soon became clear that PSV was a few sizes too big for the Belgian team, who did their utmost and played very sportive football. PSV played well and alternated nice individual actions with good combinations. The match ended in a 14-0 victory for coach Willem Weijs' men. The F1 got so many opportunities in this match that it was not possible to write them all down. In this report therefore a description of the goals.
The 1-0 comes from Jesse Giebels who shoots the ball over the goalkeeper into the far corner. It becomes 2-0 when a nice combination between Gioele Nicolaas and Dylan Tran is finished off by Gioele. Not long after this goal it becomes 3-0 when again Jesse finishes an action by Gioele. The 4-0 is also scored by Jesse who reacts attentively to a corner. With his fourth goal Jesse also makes it 5-0: he intercepts the ball when the goalkeeper wants to defend and slides the ball into the empty goal. The 6-0 is scored by Dylan who finishes a nice individual action himself. Then it is Jesse's turn again. He makes it 7-0 from a cross from D'Leanu Arts, who scores 8-0 with a shot into the crossbar. With 8-0 the teams go to rest. A much stronger PSV, which could have scored much more if some shots by Tim van Riel and Joey van Casand, among others, had not gone just wide or over. Bocholt hardly got a chance because the defenders did not let a mouse through. And if the Belgians did get through once, goalkeeper Luuk Smolenaars was at his post.
After half time PSV quickly made it 9-0 when Gioele completed good preparatory work by Tim. Then Bocholt seemed to get into the game a bit better and the counter stayed at 9 for a while. But about 10 minutes after half time PSV decides to increase the score. Double digits are reached when Dylan breaks through on the right and Jesse slides his cross into the goal: 10-0. Gioele then pegged the 11-0 into the top corner, again on Tim's pass. The 12-0 is a wonderful long-distance shot by Joey that sails into the top corner from the left. And after a mistake in the Belgian defense, it is Dylan who takes advantage and scores 13-0. The last goal is a nice one: a nice combination across the width of the field via Gioele and Dylan ends with Jesse who with his seventh goal puts the 14-0 final score on the scoreboard. Bocholt almost scores the last goal just before the end, but Luuk doesn't allow it because he wants to keep his goal clean. So it becomes 14-0 for PSV after a game that at least the PSV crowd enjoyed.
