    The Report

The next semifinal on our way to the ultimate goal, the final of the cup tournament, takes us to The Castle today. And a castle is where fairy tales often come true. So today Sparta, the weather is summer so all conditions are present for a nice game of football.

We start well and immediately put pressure on Sparta and thus show what we want right away. (Where have I heard this before). Yet it takes until the closing stages of the first half before we manage to outsmart Sparta's goalie through two brilliantly executed attacks. We scored twice. First by Cody and a little later it is Joel who appreciates a brilliant pass from 'Bertje' and puts the deserved 0-2 on the scoreboard in a phenomenal way. We go into the break with the deserved and perhaps a little too low a lead.

After halftime, we just keep going. We keep putting pressure and one attack after another rolls towards the Sparta goal. Unfortunately, we don't manage to take advantage of any of the many chances and that is the only downside today. A victory with four, five or maybe even six goals difference was definitely a possibility today. The field superiority was very high while this is not reflected in the result. However, another victory that is good for self-confidence. Two more semifinals to go and then it has to happen.

And this afternoon it also became immediately clear that the opponent in the final will be from Amsterdam. Now we still have to find a suitable date and then we are ready to take an appealing prize this season. So that is what we are going for and after the last matches and the deserved and resounding victories in recent weeks, the confidence is growing!

Lineup: Van de Meulenhof, Teze, Soulas, Obispo, Bannani, Sadilek, Daneels, Kun (79th Fernandes), Piroe(79th Konings), Lonwijk (79th Schoonbrood) and Gakpo.
