Offday for PSV O17
In a week in which only top games were scheduled, twice Feyenoord away and Ajax home, we had to show ourselves. The first blowout away at Feyenoord was truly a treat for the eyes. Saturday it was time for the game against Ajax. In the Eredivisie, they often talk about the term "falling through the ice. And unfortunately, after the first half, we knew what that meant. From the start, nothing ran the way it was supposed to beforehand. Ajax must have thought themselves in a playground, so much freedom were given to play their game. No coverage, too much freedom, no duels and what was worst, we didn't even foul. This is not to say that you have to start kicking everyone, but you are allowed to show that you are playing at home and that you are full of fight. After half an hour we were looking at a 0-4 deficit. So that is what you call "falling through the ice," and not by much.
At halftime, a thunderous sermon followed in the locker room and we had to draw from a different keg in the second half. The O17 started to fight and that resulted in a better half, in which Pigmans scored the only goal. The match ended 1-4. So the positive of this story is that at least the second half was won.
On Tuesday Vitesse comes to visit and then we have to show that this was really an incident.
