PSV O13 loses catch-up match to AZ
PSV O13 was unable to follow up on last week's cup victory. The team lost the match against AZ with 0-3. A sour defeat, as the team held their own for three quarters of the match.
The first half hour of the match was completely balanced. Both defenses had their affairs in order, so most of the match took place in midfield. PSV managed to win many duels, but did not create any real chances. Only Nicolas Verkooijen was dangerous once, but the Belgian was unable to reward his excellent solo effort with a goal. Thus both teams went to rest with a 0-0 score.
In the second half, AZ slowly became stronger. The Alkmaar players started to win more and more duels, but because the Eindhoven defense was always well positioned, PSV kept the prospect of a result alive. A quarter of an hour before time, however, things went wrong: after a corner the central defender of AZ was able to head the ball into the net. When just after the kickoff the 0-2 fell (a shot was unfortunately changed direction), the Eindhoven resistance was broken. Two minutes before the end, the score was 0-3.
An unfortunate defeat for PSV O13, which went down 0-3 despite a good first half. Next Saturday the next match is scheduled, when Sparta Rotterdam visits De Herdgang.
