The report
Today the match against Feyenoord was scheduled, the first match of the championship competition. The last match of the pools round of O17 was also against Feyenoord O17. In that match, we led 2-0, but eventually the match ended in a draw.
But this match today, that was certainly not to happen, that was the starting point. After five minutes of play, PSV had the first big chance to open the scoring, but it was not finished. Shortly after, PSV got another possible scoring opportunity, but moments later it was Feyenoord who worked the 1-0 in. A setback for PSV but they kept their heads up and continued the way they had started. With hard work and nice attacks both over the right and left, but the chances were not finished. And then it fell at the other end. Feyenoord fired a free kick from 25 meters onto the post in the 38th minute and the returning ball was shot in: 2-0.
The second half did not start well for PSV, suffering another setback in the 42nd minute from a counter. The Rotterdammers made it 3-0. But PSV kept going to try to turn the game around and it looked like it was going to happen. In the 48th minute Nigel Thomas shot on goal out of nowhere and the Feyenoord goalkeeper let the ball go through his legs: 3-1. PSV got wings and Feyenoord couldn't keep up with PSV's pressure. In the 54th minute Shurandy Sambo made it 3-2. Shortly after, a nice ball from Nigel Thomas put the leather behind the Feyenoord defense and Yorbe Vertessen was able to shoot it directly at goal; 3-3. Feyenoord did not know what was happening and trainer Kristof Aelbrecht brought in another player in the closing stages, Andi Koshi. Shortly before, it was said on the bench that Andi Koshi was going to score a goal if he came in, and he did. Indeed, he made it 3-4 for PSV in 75th minute. Thus, the match ended in a nice victory for PSV O17.
