  1. Match report

Today the D2 had to go to Koen's club, UNA from Veldhoven. Unfortunately Koen couldn't play himself because of his appendectomy. But he was present to support the boys. UNA is currently the shared no.2 together with Willem II, Dongen and Den Bosch, at 6 points from PSV. From the kickoff, PSV wanted to create a surprise, but it turned out wrong. Where the intention was to send Yasin directly deep, the ball is lost. UNA takes over the attack and where it is initially repelled, ball loss on the back line leads to possession again for UNA. The outside right is able to lay the ball back to an incoming midfielder who shoots the ball in behind Edson. This is immediately in the 1st minute a cold shower. However, a minute later it should have been 1-1 when Greg cuts into the 16 meters, but slides the ball just past the goal. A 1st minute where you are short of eyes. After that, however, PSV's play became too predictable. Too much is played backwards instead of forwards. In midfield, the dropped balls are mostly for UNA. However, when PSV enters the penalty area, it turns out to be very dangerous. After about seven minutes, Mo cuts into the 16 meters and is brought down in the penalty area. Everyone waits for the referee's whistle but it stays out. Although the game is regularly in the PSV half, UNA is unable to carve out any significant chances, but remains vigilant. In the 20 minute, PSV should take the lead. Yasin, sent deep runs out the rearguard, circles the goalkeeper, but does not shoot hard enough, clearing the ball off the line. Five minutes later it is again Yasin who is through, but the good UNA goalkeeper prevents the PSV lead. So the score at halftime remains 1-0 for UNA after a first half in which PSV should have taken the lead given the chances, but lacked real conviction. In the 2nd half, a different PSV. Apparently the tactics have been changed and PSV seems to play more aggressive and opportunistic (a word for I love Holland). This seems to be successful already in the 2nd minute when, after a good PSV attack, Yasin is put in position, but he runs into a familiar face, the UNA goalkeeper. In the 5th minute, the redeeming equalizer comes after Yasin again leaves the UNA rearguard in his heels and skilfully finishes. PSV goes in search of victory and the chances to do so do not take long to arrive. After fifteen minutes in the 2nd half, a long ball from Joey in the depths which is picked up by Yasin, who once again takes off. However, this one cannot finish effectively. PSV dominates the 2nd half and UNA doesn't really cross the center line anymore. Because PSV does not take advantage of the chances and because in front of the goal and around the 16 meters a few times the better free player is not found, the score remains the same. Furthermore, the game is repeatedly stopped for substitutions, injuries and minor fouls, causing irritations. PSV still gets good opportunities. A shot by Joop is caught by the goalkeeper and Yasin hits the outside of the crossbar. In the last minute of official playing time, PSV thought they would get a penalty kick. Davy plays his opponent and goes over his opponent's leg. Again, the referee doesn't see a penalty, so the match ends in a 1-1 draw and PSV, given the number of chances, lose 2 points in the race for the championship.
