At 10:30am the C1 was scheduled to play the away match at MVV. They had previously won 1-7 here in the cup tournament, but there was no question of underestimation.
After a short delay due to an unannounced road break near the Geusselt, the match kicked off on time with the following starting line-up; Yannick (A) in goal, Gokhan, Maarten, Taoufic and Philippe in defense, Sam, Kenneth and Yentl in midfield, and Youandi, Martijn and Steven in front.
The match started well and halfway through the 1st half this was reflected in the score, in the 20th minute Martijn was put away by Steven and finished neatly, 0-1. Before that a couple of chances were turned away. After the goal PSV C1 went on merrily and it was the rising Taoufic who shot hard from 20 meters from the left after a nice individual action. 0-2. This was also the halftime score because the same Taoufic missed a good chance for 0-3 a minute after his goal.
At halftime everyone agreed that the score was well deserved and we needed to reward ourselves even more in the form of goals. However, the opposite happened and in the 5th minute after halftime MVV came back to 1-2, after an inattentive defensive error. A free kick from the edge of the center circle could be headed in by a Limburger, allowing them to get back into the game due to our own mistake.
Fortunately this did not happen and PSV strung the chances together, a shot by Sam ended up on the crossbar, but the red and white had to wait until the 64th minute when Vincent stepped in for Youandi to make it 1-3. A real striker's goal, taking in with the right and finishing with the left into the roof of the goal. PSV went from strength to strength and 1-4 when Kenneth scored from a penalty shot. Taoufic was kicked in the back in the 16 meters.
The final score was set at 1-5 by Martijn's second goal in the 69th minute. After a smooth running attack on the left, after good work by Ward and Steven he was able to score at the 2nd post. After this the referee blew for the end of the match and PSV C1 does good business again on the league table. Now 4 points behind the leader and next week the number 5 will visit the Herdgang, VVV-Helm.Sport C1.
Unlucky Kevin broke his finger during training last week, and we wish you good luck with your operation and recovery and hopefully you can rejoin the group soon!
