  1. Match report

PSV D1 played a practice match against Tokyo 013 (yes, they can't come from far enough) last Tuesday. Under excellent weather conditions, the D1 managed to pull out a convincing 5-1 victory after a somewhat difficult first half. Coach Claudio Braga took the opportunity to experiment with his line-up. In the first half, defender Roel van Linschooten played in the midfield and in the second half outside player Mats Grotenbreg emerged as a deep striker, later replaced by Joey Konings, who immediately scored a nice goal. All in all, a useful practice match and a nice break from the 'regular' training program. Tokyo 013 proved a tough opponent defensively, especially in the first half. In the second half the spirit seemed to have gone out a bit and PSV ran out to an easy 5-1.

    The facts:
    * In the 21st minute, Tokyo 013 takes the lead. A breakout is well rounded as the ball is shot tightly under goalkeeper Ieke Scheerhoorn: 0-1.
    * A rather easily given penalty in the 24th minute. Dante Rigo shoots in impeccably: 1-1.
    * Initially little excitement in the second half. Until the 22nd minute when Joey Konings breaks through and shoots in the 2-1. It is blatantly offside, but the lack of linesmen means it goes unnoticed.
    * In the 24th minute Lennerd Daneels heads back at the second post to Giovanni Nicolaas who shoots high to make it 3-1.
    * Joey slides in his second goal in the 27th minute: 4-1.
    * Lennerd crosses fine to Joey who shoots in the 5-1 (or was it headers, I can get rid of that for a moment?).
