  1. Match report

PSV comes up short in topper

Last Saturday was already the second league match for PSV O14. After the opening game against Feyenoord, Saturday was another topper on the program, this Saturday it was Ajax that came to visit. So playing two top games within a week, great.

While PSV was the footballing team last game, today Ajax was clearly too big for the O14. The Amsterdammers were slightly ahead of PSV on almost all fronts. This does not mean that PSV was without chances, certainly not, even for PSV there were chances to open the score. Isaì Middag was close to a goal early in the match, but the goalie from Amsterdam was just a bit quicker. There was also a great chance for Sami Bouhoudane, who headed the ball into the side netting after a cross from Yalen Meulendijks. Ajax was dangerous several times with balls that were placed behind the PSV defense, but PSV goalkeeper Stijn Kuijsten was in time to save every time. Thus both teams could go to rest without having scored.

In thesecond half, it was again Ajax that had the best of the game. Ajax put even more pressure forward, making it difficult for PSV. In the 48th minute, the Amsterdammers managed to intercept the ball in midfield, Ajax switched gears much faster than PSV, causing an overtime to appear in front of Stijn's goal, Ajax scored, leaving Stijn hopeless. Ajax remained more threatening than PSV, and the chances were also bigger. A few minutes before time, Ajax was also able to score the 0-2, after PSV made a mistake at the back.

All in all, another good lesson. After having played this match, the PSV players know where they stand again and will have to start training hard to revenge next week. Excelsior from Rotterdam will then visit Eindhoven.
