The report
Saturday saw the first match scheduled in the championship pool. And it is immediately a top match, the Rotterdammers of Feyenoord come to visit.
Both teams started a bit off. The first opportunity was for PSV, in the seventh minute it was Chukwunonso Madueke who came in with a good action and played Oliver Horvath. The Hungarian shot the ball on goal from a difficult position, but straight into the goalkeeper's hands. The first fifteen minutes were evenly matched. Then PSV O19 became stronger. This did not result in a big chance for Mathias Kjolo until the 38th minute. After a nice pass in the depth he came face to face with the goalkeeper, but unfortunately the goalkeeper came out victorious. In injury time it was Damian Timan who stepped up from the center line and took a devastating shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was turned away by the Feyenoord goalie. In the rebound Horvath shot the ball in, but unfortunately he was just offside. So we went to rest with a 0-0 score.
The second half began with a small opportunity for Horvath, who again met the goalkeeper in his path. After this, coach Ruud van Nistelrooy was forced to make some substitutions. Feyenoord seemed to get a little better into the match as a result. The Rotterdammers took the 0-1 lead in the 67th minute through an own goal by Dennis Vos. When Feyenoord even made it 0-2 in the 78th minute, the game was played. PSV were unable to turn the game around. And so the three points went to Rotterdam.
