    The report

Naturally, PSV O15 wishes all followers and readers a wonderful 2019! The O15 started this weekend with the first match in the championship pool. Compared to the placement round, Volendam and ADO Den Haag are no longer present. In their place are sc Heerenveen and FC Twente. Today's opponent was FC Utrecht, which PSV had a hard time with twice in the qualifying round. At home they drew 2-2, away they lost 3-2. Would three times be the charm in this case too?

The start was nothing to write home about. First the home team lost Sven Simons within two minutes, who had to be replaced with an arm fracture (as it turned out), and on top of that they were trailing just one minute later. The team struggled with itself and was lucky that Utrecht did not extend its lead further before halftime.

After halftime, the match seemed a little more balanced. PSV continued to struggle with the fast Utrecht forwards and had a hard time finding an opening in the Utrecht defense. Somewhat surprisingly, the home side came alongside in the 50th minute. Isaac Babadi was able to reach Iggy Houben with a refined pass, who after a short turn shot the ball inside the post: 1-1. The team could not enjoy the equalizer for long, because in the 58th minute Utrecht took full advantage of its speed in front and took the lead again. Once again, PSV had to make up ground. And with now four O14 players against a physically strong Utrecht, that was a challenge. Fortunately, the team did not give in and after a particularly creative ball from Isaac, the ball ended up on the spot about five minutes before time. Isaac tried to play striker Jason van Duiven and in a forest of players one of the Utrecht defenders got the ball against his hand. Iggy took advantage of this opportunity and shot the 2-2. That was all. PSV failed to win its third game against Utrecht. Next week follows the away match against sc Heerenveen.

Sven, on behalf of the entire team and staff: get well, good recovery and we hope to see you back on the field soon!
