  1. Match report

    Nice victory for PSV F1

Today F1 had the away game against Sem's old team, Nuenen.
On the beautiful new sports park with a lovely late summer sun nothing stood in the way of a wonderful football morning. To make it even more fun for Sem, trainer Bastiaan had rewarded his good play of the last few weeks with the captain's collar.
PSV started the match brightly and it was Tijn with the first action of the match who created the necessary danger. Although his effort went past the goalkeeper, it was cleared off the goal line by a defender.
Sem in particular was passionately hunting for a goal and almost succeeded via a diving save, but the ball went just over the Nuenen goal.
Nuenen showed that they had a nice team at their disposal and it was a shock for the PSV players when the Nuenen striker hit the crossbar above the well placed Kyan after a far kick from the goalkeeper.
PSV did not leave it at that and it was Joop who broke the game open. From the right he cut inside to then take a shot with his left: 0-1.
As often this season, this is the starting signal for more goals, and they fall in quick succession.
One of the fellow stars Arne shoots the ball high into the goal after good preparatory work by Sem, and a little later Sem manages to get his goal. Again the ball disappears high behind the chance-less Nuenen goalkeeper.
The best goal this morning was scored by Arne. He took a cross from the right behind his foot and shot in hard: 0-4.
Nuenen tries a few more times, but Brian and Joey do not give away a single meter defensively. At the other end, Gregory hits the post and Sem tries a few more times, but the score remains unchanged before half-time: 0-4.
In the second half, PSV went hunting for a bigger score, but had to stay alert to the sparse Nuenen attacks.
The first to find the net was Gregory. He needed 3 attempts, but finally the ball went into the net: 0-5.
The 0-6 came again from Arne, after a Nuenen corner. He concluded his solo from his own half with a cool touch on the outside right. The same Arne was at the base of the 0-7, scored by Joop.
Nuenen continued to try valiantly, but when a free pass towards the PSV goal, Merijn showed his class by stopping the effort twice. This Nuenen attack caused the Nuenen supporters to shout "they are broken", but unfortunately for them this was the sign for the last final offensive of the PSV players.
Gregory managed to score twice more, of which the 0-8 was the only gift from the goalkeeper and the 0-9 was a tap-in.
The final chord was for Davy, who did everything today to let someone else score, and was a bit unlucky himself in finishing. The 0-10 was his reward for good perseverance and keeping trying.
All in all another very nice match to watch with a compliment to the Nuenen team and coaching staff for the good, but especially sporting opposition.
