Tonight there was a great match on the schedule, a tough but fun game. PSV started the match very well. High tempo and good perception on the side of PSV, which resulted in some small chances, some good actions and combinations where the final pass was just not right.

In the 20th minute there was the first big chance of the match. Ilyas received a cross ball where he outplayed the right back of Ajax and could shoot at goal. Unfortunately, he cannot place the ball well and shoots just wide of the goal. A similar action comes on the PSV side in the 27th min. A good pass from Naïm who gives a cross ball to Milan. Milan can just get past the goalkeeper, comes out hard but can still shoot at goal. This ball rolls just past the goal and goes behind. In the 30th minute Ajax gets a free kick at 20 meters from the goal. This free kick was taken well and hard, but Jules just managed to tap the ball over. This resulted in a corner that was tumbled by an Ajax player, who in turn could shoot at goal. Jules manages to catch this one too with a cat-like save. In the last ten minutes PSV seemed a little less sharp and Ajax had a few chances due to their own mistakes.

PSV starts the second half well and after three minutes there is again the first chance for PSV. Naïm can take a shot after a good combination and from 20 meters he shoots just past the crossbar. The first quarter of an hour is again for PSV. In the 15th minute Naïm gives a nice cross ball to Ilias. He plays past two men and runs nicely into the sixteen meters. He stays calm and puts the ball past the goalkeeper into the goal! 0-1, a very deserved lead. PSV continues to combine well and some small chances arise on both sides. In the 28th minute, PSV gets another free kick on the edge of the sixties. Milyan gets behind the ball and curls it beautifully over the wall against the outside post. In the 35th minute Ajax gets a free kick because of a handsball by Naïm at a nice position just outside the penalty area. This free kick was shot directly at goal and the ball went through the PSV wall into the goal. 1-1 Just after this goal, the defense on our side was poor and Ajax got a great chance and could shoot the 2-1. This is also the final score.

An unnecessary defeat for PSV that was much better than Ajax over the whole match. PSV must now recover quickly and go full out against Feyenoord on Saturday.
