  1. Match report

Home Heerenveen. A team that also values training highly. The ranking is actually not as it should be for this club. The first half is evenly matched and there are a few small chances for both teams but the goalies manage to stop these not too difficult balls. The pace is pretty high. After half an hour a ball on the post of Heerenveen is the cause that the score is not opened for us and a little later Heerenveen gets an open chance and it does not go in either. At halftime, we put the finishing touches to the game because this is not a game we won just yet. But today is a game with two faces. (as they say so nicely).
And the other face in the second half is that of Heerenveen. The team is no more a shadow of the first half. After three minutes in the second half, a quick attack from us is shot through Martijn and the defender manages to kick the ball away just before the goal line. Two minutes later Sam passed the ball to Martijn, who reached Dani who tapped the ball in at the first post. 1-0. Then it goes fast. Within six minutes it is Sam and again Dani who increase the lead to 3 - 0 after a pass from Sam. Heerenveen completely lost track. PSV increases the pressure and is eager to extend the score. Twenty minutes before time a ball from Bob to Boris and he scores the 4 - 0 in a controlled way. Just before his goal Boris hit the post in a good attack. We kept up the pressure and Heerenveen was completely beaten. Ten minutes before the end, Dani scored his third goal of the game to make it 5-0. Martijn then hits the post just once more and then the referee whistles for the end of the match. A 5-0 victory which, given the chances and the balls on the post, could have been higher. Heerenveen breathed a sigh of relief that they were spared that. Four more games to go and we start next week in The Hague at ADO. Place in the standings is getting closer and closer and so is the goal.
Happy weekend and see you next week.
    Bye.
