The last match before the start of the winter break is scheduled today. Opponent is RKTVC from Tiel who were sent home with a 4-0 defeat in the first game. That this means nothing was proven last week, given the narrow 1-0 victory against bottom-placed Hardinxveld. Against these opponents it is important to score quickly. The coach apparently told the boys this as well, because right from the kick-off it is Yassin who breaks through on the left and finds Arne, but he does not really get a good shot off. So it should have been 1-0 after only a minute. After this chance it stagnated a bit on the PSV side. Just like last week, there was a lot of contact, but without becoming dangerous. Too much football in the small space instead of moving the game where the space is. It took until the 10th minute when the second opportunity arose and then it was a direct hit. A cross from Joey fell at the feet of Yassin, who was startled for a moment but then finished in a controlled manner. This goal gave PSV confidence and this immediately had a positive influence on the game, which improved as the first half progressed. In the 12th minute, this is rewarded with a 2nd goal. A Tiel attack ends at the post and in the switch PSV strikes with lightning speed. Arne got hold of the ball on the edge of his own sixteen meters and found Remco, who crossed to Yassin, who left the goalkeeper defenseless. After fifteen minutes there is another opportunity from Tiel, but good intervention by Edson prevents a goal. PSV continues to control the game and opportunities present themselves. In the 22nd minute, PSV receives a free kick from the well-flowing referee. A rehearsed one? Between Davy and Remco it then reaches Arne who shoots in for the 3-0. Less than two minutes later the ball is behind the Tiel goalkeeper again. Sem leaves the RKTVC goalkeeper with a low shot into the bottom corner with no chance. PSV goes into the break with a 4-0 lead, after a first half in which they played some good football. PSV started the second half strongly. Greg, brought in after the break, has to release his energy and leaves 3 opponents standing. Greg kept his overview and played the ball to Sem who at first met the goalkeeper, but in his second attempt he lifted the ball over the goalkeeper. Characteristic of today's match are beautiful attacks and combinations alternating with phases where things don't run smoothly for a while and the players are sloppy. After the 5th goal such a phase occurs and this allows RKTVC to score in the 10th minute of the second half. The coach makes a few more substitutions with a variant with Tijn in the striker position. This one seems to form a good combination with Greg. In the 15th minute, both men combine the Tiel rearguard out of harm's way but Tijn's shot does not yet find a goal. A minute later, Tijn is again close to a goal but his header goes wide. In the 20th minute Tijn is successful. After a nice attack on the left side, Mo played the ball back to Tijn, who scored 6-1. Five minutes before time there is another beautiful PSV attack over the right side with Yassin, Greg and Tijn in the lead, with Tijn scoring his 2nd goal. With this win PSV is herbstmeister (actually last week already) and goes into the winter break with a 6 point lead over OJC Rosmalen and Baronie who both also won today. The other teams seem already eliminated for a possible championship.
