The life of a budding top footballer can be beautiful and tough. Between a trip to Basel and a trip to Milan, we had our friends from Rotterdam visiting us. And although the weather was nice, it was actually just a bit too nice to play football. So we played Feijenoord today and wanted to continue the good trend of last week. The game went back and forth during the first half but there were no real chances. Good interception by Thomas did result in a hard shot by Oussame, but the goalkeeper managed to stop the ball. After about half an hour the ball hit the post and another good chance but the score was still 0-0. In the 42nd minute, a cross comes from the right and in the crowd of players, a hand suddenly goes up and the referee puts the ball on the spot. Feijenoord did not let this opportunity pass them by and so we went into the break with a score of 0 - 1.
After the break we quickly wanted to put things right, but a Feijenoord corner was not handled well and the score was 0 - 2. After an hour of play, substitute Geraldo Antonio set up a nice one-two with Oussame and he brought the tension back into the game and the score to 1 - 2.
There are still chances on both sides and in the last minutes everything is done to keep the deserved point in Eindhoven, but it is Feijenoord that closes the door in injury time and the score is 1 - 3. The referee, who led well, blew the whistle immediately.
There is not much time to grieve because Tuesday morning we leave for Milan where we play Inter in the Nextgenseries on Wednesday afternoon.
