Today at the Herdgang was the last game played by the D3 led by coach Colin. An emotional moment ... yes.
Both for the players and the parents, because they too had to "work together" with trainer Colin for several years.
We were missing no less than four players for this match: Baggio, Huseyin, Raphael and Bjorn could not be there today for various reasons.
However, newcomers Justin and Amar were in the game.
Gestel, who found their way to PSV in the form of coach Nicky, came up a bit short to the younger but technically stronger PSV players.
During the warm-up we already noticed that the goalie of the visitors was having a little problem, but tough as goalies are he wanted to play anyway.
But after 1 minute and at PSV's first chance through new addition Amar, he had to go to the side anyway. A field player took his place.
After 3 minutes he was able to fish the ball out of the net for the first time. A pass from Cody to speedster Steven and he popped in under the crossbar. 1-0.
The next chance is for Cody, Cody's move past everyone and everything, the goalkeeper intervenes but releases the ball, and Cody gladly accepts the gift. 2-0.
From interplay between Cody and Amar, Cody shoots his 2nd of the match. 3-0. We are then 9 minutes in.
On a free kick from the visitors, the offside flaps open in which at least 3 Gestel players step in, only the linesman (Nicky) turns a blind eye and
Let "his" guests play on. Yet this gift has no consequence ( read goal ) because the defense clears before Stan has to intervene.
It was impossible for the visitors to force chances against our defenders. Armando, James, Luc and Ruud did not give away a single chance.
When after 12 minutes Robin popped at goal once again, the ball took a banana curve and the goalkeeper saw the ball fly into goal for the 4th time.
The goals then follow in quick succession the 5-0 through Jordan, the 6-0 through Cody and again Robin with the 7-0.
When fast train Number 2 Amar offered Cody a nice opportunity, he could hardly miss it. He does so anyway and at halftime it is a dry 7-0.
Then you have to stand up for the second period...
Especially when after 2 minutes Robin scores again and the 8-0 is a fact.
The writing press pen starts to get quite warm in the hand.
Suddenly a moment for the visitors, with a chance for the honorary goal, but Arne throws his whole body in front of it and weathers the ball into corner kick.
The first time Amar goes for his own chance our striker pops at the post, it was not to his liking today.
That other addition Justin, with a millimeter pass puts Robin alone in front of the goalkeeper. Robinho does not miss and puts the 9-0 on the scoreboard.
Occasional captain Lars Dickens also pops at goal after 11 minutes in the 2nd period, but now the goalkeeper saves handsomely. It is only a delay because 1 minute later
It's 10-0 anyway. Signed the two newcomers. Corner kick Amar, tapped in by Justin.
After a pass from Robin to Cody, "Cood" passes the goalkeeper and it is already ( for those who have lost count ) 11-0.
Steven in possession along his line, up to the goal line, laying backwards to Cody and it's 12-0.
Jordan recovers the ball on an attempted defending from the visitors, delivers a measured cross to Justin, and he too cannot miss. 13-0.
Roland scores the 14-0 with a shot from just outside the sixteen, and Jordan taps in number 15.
The final goal falls after beautiful interplay between Roland and Cody. Cody good at shot today shoots in the 16-0; his sixth today.
It is difficult to speak of an end of season game because it never became a match.
But it was a nice finish for our D3, a true feast of goals. As well as for Gestel who got to play on the holy ground of Eindhoven.
Supervisor Nicky might have imagined it a little differently, but our D3s thought otherwise.
We will now have to miss this for about two months because of the summer break.
From August 16 we will start again with the D3 who will then be D2, led by trainer Bastiaan.
May I as writing press on behalf of Ank Gakpo, Hans Bosma and myself wish everyone a wonderful vacation.
Greetings Joel Lekens
