The Final Final.
Today it is make or break. The decider.
We can pull out all the superlatives but the reality is that tonight we arrive in Emmen after a long journey and face AJAX on the artificial pitch for the championship.
Where after a hesitant start after the winter break we have worked our way up to this moment after playing eleven finals this has to be the anticlimax.
Lots of crowd, nice weather, good conditions. Everything at hand.
But then it turns out that the moment there is a prize to be won (in 1991 the last championship for the U19) that we come up just short. There are too few players who reach their level today that they have shown in recent weeks (11). Ajax managed to score from a free kick in the 55th minute and they did not get any further. For us there are only sporadic chances and we can't exploit them.
Unfortunately, men. It is no different. Stranded within sight of the harbor. But we fought hard and can be proud of what we have achieved this season.
So this is a good sign for the new season.
Then we will go for the highest again.
A few more nice days, then the tournament in Amsterdam and on Monday the conclusion of the season.
The coach will let us know where and at what time.
