The report
Today for PSV O17 the away match against AZ. Not an easy opponent, because AZ, like PSV, is also a footballing team that likes to play positional play. But the team was well prepared.
PSV put pressure on the opponent from the first minute, pinning them in their own half. This resulted in the eighth minute in a nice attack on the right with Yorbe Vertessen and Sekou Sidibe. The latter gave the ball to Mohammed Amine Ihattaren, who shot the 0-1. After that we had at least three more good chances to extend the lead further, but they were not taken. After half an hour of play AZ came alongside, due to two misjudgments by PSV. But five minutes in, the ball was already in the right side of the net again. This time it was Sidibe who worked the ball behind the AZ goalkeeper.
PSV started the second half strongly again and Sidibe went close to scoring 1-3, but the AZ goalkeeper just touched the ball and it went wide. PSV kept up the pressure on the AZ defense and in the 56th minute Ihattaren had a corner. He passed the ball to Sidibe, who in turn passed it back to Mohammed. Nigel Thomas just touched his cross with his head and the ball went into the far corner: 1-3. PSV had several more chances to extend the lead, but unfortunately the ball did not go in. Not even from eleven meters. So the match ended in a nice 1-3 victory for PSV O17.
