An autumnal day. The match was brought forward an hour, so sleeping in was out of the question. Certainly not for the players of D2 who had to play against RKC D2. The kick-off on the artificial turf was at 10:00 am. PSV immediately went on the attack in search of the first goal. With the 0-7 of the away game on their minds, PSV tried to make a nice game of it again. The first half went reasonably well as individuals, but as a team it was all a bit less. Yet it was Jordy who opened the scoring with a beautiful long-distance shot. The fear of almost every D-keeper came true, from about 25 meters Jordy poked the ball beautifully over the goalie. Despite many, perhaps too many individual actions, PSV tried to increase the distance to RKC before halftime. Despite the field superiority it was only 1-0 at halftime, work to be done for the trainers. After halftime there was more football and a good search for the sides. Jeroen shot the ball neatly in from outside the box, 2-0 for PSV. Finally freed from his opponent and with a beautiful pingel Endy led the 3-0 for PSV. Controlled, he outplayed the goalkeeper and slid the ball neatly in. Then it was the "Man of the Match" Jorrit who, driven as he is, also took the ball from a distance shot over the goalkeeper to put the final score on the board, 4-0.
Another week of training and then off to the ABC restaurant for the D2 Christmas dinner.
Players, trainers and coaches, congratulations!
