  1. Match report

Today everyone had to get up early for the away game to VVV Venlo. For most the alarm clock was set between 6:00 and 6:30 and hopefully the dawn has gold in its mouth. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. and in the early stages both teams keep each other in balance. The first chance is for PSV after 5 minutes. After a corner kick by Yassin, Greg sees his effort turned away by the VVV goalkeeper. Two minutes later a nice PSV attack is set up from behind through the midfield and Greg just cannot capitalize. The cleared ball came to James, who crossed and again Greg found the goalkeeper. It could be lucky for a change. After 12 minutes the first danger from VVV, but Kyan defuses the shot. Where in the first fifteen minutes PSV has a slight field advantage, VVV gets better in the game. At the second chance it is a winner for VVV. Kyan can still turn away the first effort, but then the PSV unfortunate fall against a PSV leg, making the ball roll into the goal. Once again it would be lucky. PSV curves back and Greg sends Joop deep, but the VVV goalkeeper gets out of his goal in time. Where PSV just does not succeed, VVV sprinkles salt in the wounds, by shooting the ball into the net via the bottom bar. When VVV scored the 3-0 just before half time, the game seemed decided, while PSV was not the lesser team in the first 20 minutes.
The first chance in the second half is for VVV. A good cross is headed just wide. The match becomes a bit messier. VVV has the field advantage but cannot create real chances until the 10th minute. A long ball goes over the PSV defense which makes Edson 1-1, but he saves in fine fashion. In the following counterattack, PSV gets a penalty kick. However, this one did not go in either. After fifteen minutes VVV gets a few more chances, but Joey gets the ball off the line and Edson saves twice. Just before the final whistle, VVV made their contribution and scored 4-0. This is also the final score. Come on boys, keep fighting and then the tide will turn.
