    The report

On Wednesday afternoon, May 9, coach Mark van Bommel's boys played the important catch-up match in The Hague. They are one point behind leader Ajax, with two less games played. So a win would allow the boys to do good business and take back the lead from the Amsterdammers.

PSV started the match strong and focused. In the 11th minute, it was Joël Piroe who forgot to punish a slip at the back of ADO. Eye to eye with the goalkeeper, he shot the ball over the goal. In the 15th minute Amar Catic captured the ball, dribbled into the sixteen meters and played a high ball to the free Zakaria Aboukhlal. The latter took the ball with his chest and beautifully shot the 0-1. In the 20th minute it was an attack over many drives, which ended up with Catic. From the edge of the sixteen meters he shot the 0-2 with a dry blast. In the 24th minute it was Justin Lonwijk who wanted to take a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but a foul meant that Michal Sadilek curled the free kick in nicely with his left foot. And so already put the score at a generous 0-3 lead for PSV. It was then Robbin Schoonbrood who played a nice pass to Aboukhlal, who put the ball wide to Piroe, who ran along and tapped in the 0-4 in the 28th minute. PSV gave nothing else away, but forgot to make the score even bigger before halftime.

It was ADO that made it 1-4 in the 48th minute. This came about because we did not start the second half sharply. A pass from Jordan Teze to Catic was intercepted by the goalkeeper, only this one shot hard against his own player. The ball ended up in Catic's feet. In the 51st minute he made it 1-5. The 1-6 in the 61st minute was scored by Baggio Wallenburg, after a nice one-two with Lonwijk he shot the ball into the goal. A pass from Aboukhlal to the well-run Lonwijk allowed the long midfielder to shoot in the 1-7. It was not over yet, because a corner kick was neatly taken by Bertalan Kun. He shot the ball hard into the ropes. A very important victory for Mark van Bommel's boys. Saturday, May 11 we play another important match for the league, then N.E.C. from Nijmegen is the opponent at De Herdgang. This match starts at 14.30 hours.

Lineup PSV: Roulaux, Wallenburg, Daverveld, Teze, Theunissen (78, Kuisch), Sadilek (78, Oosterbrink), Aboukhlal (71, Kun), Schoonbrood, PIroe, Lonwijk (71, Van den Berg) and Catic (71, Melis).
