A topper for PSV A1. Last time with such affiche at the Herdgang does not provide pleasant memories. That this would be different on Saturday, PSV showed from the start. PSV started the game brightly and that was rewarded after only seven minutes. Jasper Waalkens was able to catch a deflected ball and shoot in hard into the right corner. PSV controlled the game well and created some chances now and then, when for example B-junior Stefano Marzo came up the right flank and delivered a shot.

In the second half, fate strikes for PSV. Freek Heerkens is torpedoed by an Ajacied player who comes in too late. The unfortunate victim has to be substituted and a serious injury is feared. The substitution also brings some unrest in the organization, which Ajax quickly takes advantage of. From a similar situation as from which the Eindhoven goal fell, Ajax is now able to score. Given the pattern of play in the remainder of the second half, this is justified. Goalkeeper Zoet had to make several saves and once he was assisted on the line by Jasper Waalkens, who got the ball full in his face. PSV also tried to come back, but were not really dangerous anymore. It remains 1-1.
