Match report:
Today PSV played football against VVV - the subtopper from Venlo - in the stadium on artificial turf. From the first minute, PSV played at a high tempo and put the opponent under full pressure. This play resulted in 2 fine goals for PSV before halftime. VVV was completely outclassed at times in the first half. In the first half, VVV did not produce more than a small roll near the goal after PSV made a mistake in midfield. Especially defensively, PSV played driven and super concentrated.
In the second half, VVV showed more bite and played forward. But, PSV got more space and the best chances. After another smooth attack, PSV scored number 3 and broke VVV's resistance once and for all. PSV then forgot to increase the score drastically. Just before time the fourth goal was scored. A strong PSV won a not always easy match in Venlo against the local fanatical pride. On to the 15th round with a home game against FC Den Bosch. The revenge match after the surprising cup elimination before the winter break.
