A week with three games. The goal was nine points. Six are already in. Now the last game. Opponent PEC Zwolle. The previous club of our head of training.
We start with the intention of imposing our will on PEC. At least that is our intention. But what is different? This is one of those days of too. You know, too long, too much, too short, too slow. Everything too. The first half is awful. If there would be a match like this on TV, you would spontaneously start zapping. Also Mr. Art, and not the one from Sesame Street, thinks so. At halftime there is a strong word. After an early lead, when we thought things were still going well, PEC came back strongly and even before halftime they managed to turn the score around and go into the break with a 1-2 lead.
So after halftime we had to change the game.
We needed just under 15 minutes to turn it around. Albert's equalizer was of exceptional beauty. From the edge of the sixteen with a beautiful arc into the far corner, out of reach of the keeper. Joey also makes another contribution and intercepts a ball and scores 3-2. And then the belief is there again. It runs and the faith comes back. Within ten minutes Sam, Joey and Ramon made it 6-2.
A deserved victory, just a pity it took so long for the faith to return. Even in bad times we have to keep believing. That determines whether you make it or not.
