The last match of this season. A nice finish at Feyenoord. And the chance to take over the third spot in the rankings and hopefully keep it after Saturday. After last Saturday's good performance against Ajax, we intend to get a good result here as well. And Feyenoord is the direct competitor for the third spot. We start well. Already after two minutes it is Martijn who gets a chance but cannot put enough power behind the header. Then the game waves up and down a bit. On an otherwise not very good pitch. After about half an hour Yanick really has to work to keep his goal clean. It is a nice tactical game between the two trainers and it is always interesting to find a solution to the opponent's way of playing. Just before half time Kenneth gets a nice chance but the Feyenoord goalkeeper manages to stop the ball. We go into the break with a 0-0 score.
After the break we want to push on and we get a bit more dominance. The coach intervened and made some substitutions. And how. After Boris was substituted, Kenneth played a great pass to him and within fifteen seconds Boris scored the deserved 0-1. Talk about a golden substitution. Then Feyenoord go in search of the equalizer but we hold out. Feyenoord also made plenty of substitutions. Feyenoord hit the bar and in the final minutes both teams have chances to change the score, but after 95 minutes we are victorious at Varkenoord. Two good victories over two renowned opponents in one week, class. For now we are in third place for two days.
Men, we have had a great season. The goal of the left row has been achieved and maybe after Saturday the third spot. Well done. As the season progressed you also saw the team grow closer together. Everyone has had his contribution.
Now next week the tournament in Terborg and then on the nineteenth of May there will be the closing of the season. Everyone will be there. To be clear, parents are also welcome. The exact location will still be communicated to the players.
Thank you all for your support and contribution to the team. Thomas, Wouter, Stijn, Niels and Ryan good luck with your new club as far as it is already known.
In any case we will all see each other the nineteenth of May and for everyone have a nice day off and a very nice weekend.
Seen in the dressing room at Legendary PSV: a veteran with not an ounce of fat on it pulled his lace.
See you next week.
