The visitors put PSV under pressure from the beginning of the match. This earned them two corners in the first five minutes of the match. Both corners were dangerous but no goal was scored from them. In the sixth minute, PSV came to the first attack that eventually resulted in a corner. This corner was turned away. From the following attack the visitors had an excellent opportunity to score through an attack on the right. The ball crossed the goal line and then hit the crossbar before being cleared. PSV hardly got under the pressure of the visitors in the first fifteen minutes of the match. Then PSV got better in the match and this resulted in an opportunity for PSV in the 22nd minute after a nice deep ball from Djurre to Jeremy. However, this opportunity was not taken. PSV put the visitors under even more pressure and in the last minute of the first half this resulted in a goal after a mistake in the visitors' defensive play. The ball ended up in Mohamed's hands and with a shot from over 20 meters the ball went over the goalkeeper, 1-0.

PSV put the visitors under pressure from the start of the second half. The strong play produced several goals in the first quarter of the second half. In the 33rd minute a corner at the second post was headed by Nigel to Luuk. Luuk then simply tapped in 2-0. A few minutes later PSV got a free kick outside the penalty area near the corner flag. Mohamed's free kick was headed in by Nigel, 3-0. Three minutes later Mathijs sent Luuk away with a deep ball. With a nice ball Luuk passed the goalkeeper, 4-0. PSV slowed down in the last fifteen minutes of the match and the visitors had some opportunities to score. In the 45th minute the visitors had a chance after losing the ball in midfield. However, the cross went past everyone. Three minutes later a distance shot from over 25 meters was shot just over by the visitors. The visitors continued to press. PSV had one more opportunity to increase the score. Genrich's shot, however, was turned away by the goalkeeper. Five minutes before time, the visitors managed to score. After a player played himself free, he shot hard to make it 4-1. This was also the final score.
