On Saturday, December 6, the O14 got to explore the stadium where the first team was to play their match in the evening.
With eight boys from the O13, five of them in the starting line-up, we went into battle with FC Dordrecht.
The FC Dordrecht coach had opted for physical strength. The biggest boys were in the starting line-up and the smaller ones were on the bench. Nevertheless, PSV immediately took the initiative which immediately resulted in a big chance in the first minute.
It was not until the 7th minute that PSV took the lead. A wonderful cross from Joost put Beslan free in front of the goalkeeper who he rounded and shot the 0-1.
PSV plays excellent, well-kept football and FC Dordrecht indeed needs all their physical strength to stand firm and try to get out with a counter now and then.
In the 21st minute the second goal is in the making. after a corner Stijn picks up the ball and when he dribbles into the penalty area he can only be stopped by bringing him down. The penalty that follows is shot in a controlled manner by Damain.
PSV is eagerly looking for the next goal, but wants to go forward a bit too quickly, giving FC Dordrecht the chance to use their physical advantage. PSV lost too much of the ball and FC Dordrecht could counter a couple of times. The first time Mees was just in time to tap the ball away from the goal, but the next time a foul was needed to stop the attack and that meant a penalty for Dordrecht. It is sometimes difficult for goalkeepers to stay sharp when they don't see the ball that often from close range, but Jurre showed he had no problems with that and dived the penatly shot out of the left corner.
Even before the end of the first half, the score was 0-3. Lars crossed the ball after a fantastic attack on the right, and Jayden saw his header saved by the goalkeeper. The following corner kick was headed in at the far post by Mees, giving this attack the deserved goal.
The second half showed the same picture, only PSV was not able to convert this into more goals, making the score at halftime the final score.
A big compliment to the boys of the O13 that afterwards in the boardroom the experts said that this was the best footballing team FC Dordrecht had played against so far, and a big compliment to the boys of the O14 that they took these boys in tow so that they all showed such a good game of football.
