    The report

After last week's disappointing loss against Vitesse (3-4), PSV O15 had to play today in The Hague against local ADO. An important match, because apart from Volendam everyone is still in contention to qualify for the Eredivisie High that will be played after the winter break. The condition is that you finish in the top six in the group of eight teams.

PSV now has eight points after five rounds of play. Today's opponent, ADO, is 7th with six points and thus in an "unsafe" place. The quick calculator now knows why a win for PSV is important today.

Whereas PSV has been quick to concede a goal in recent games, this time it was on target from the first whistle. It put early pressure on the ADO defense and got some chances as a result. After 15 minutes of play, PSV had their first big chance. Matteo Dams sent Iggy Houben in deep, but his shot went just wide of the wrong side of the post. Just before halftime, it did hit the target. And it was virtually a copy of the chance 15 minutes earlier. Matteo again sent Iggy away. This time he started from his own half, shook off his opponent, rounded the goalkeeper and scored in a controlled manner: 0-1.

After halftime, the home team started brightly. With three fresh forces including a fast, physical striker, they had two chances in the first few minutes. Both times the new striker shot well wide. In between, Ruben van Bommel hit the post from close range, preventing the 0-2. In the 43rd minute Ruben scored the 0-2. A fine save by the goalkeeper on a shot by Iggy led to a corner that Ruben turned in a slick one-timer. PSV started to dominate again and gave nothing away. They did not create many chances themselves, although Jaivy Lourens shot hard against the underside of the crossbar after a good attack.

PSV thus won thickly deservedly from ADO Den Haag and recovered from last week's defeat. Next weekend the team plays at home against AZ.
