Match report
Saturday the home game against lowly ranked Vitesse was on the program. For PSV it was important to keep the three points at home in order to still keep the connection with the top four.
The O19 started the match brightly, which resulted in a 1-0 lead as early as the third minute. With good pressure from Noni Madueke, the Vitesse defender played the ball too short to his teammate, allowing the Englishman to take advantage and work the ball into the goal. The home team continued after the early lead and wanted to build on it. A free kick on the edge of the penalty area was curled over the wall by Nigel Thomas, but Vitesse's goalkeeper saved cleverly. In the tenth minute it was again the strong playing Madueke who passed his opponent on the back line and played to the free Shurandy Sambo. He did not hesitate and shot into the far corner: 2-0! After this, PSV got several more opportunities to extend the score. And the next goal fell in the 29th minute. After another nice action by Madueke, a Vitesse defender worked the ball into his own goal. PSV O19 went into the break with a deserved 3-0 lead.
In the second half, PSV changed some players and Vitesse did not have the power to make it a match. PSV created a few more chances through Kreekels (who headed into the goalkeeper's hands) and the debutant Ledezma. After a nice attack he had a shot from the penalty area, but the goalkeeper could turn the ball into a corner. PSV's defense did not give this match away and so it remained 3-0 at De Herdgang.
