Today the 1st playoff match was scheduled, away against FC Eindhoven. The last 2 meetings were both ended with a victory. The first half was very restless. FC Eindhoven tried to pin PSV down in their own half. PSV struggled to get out of this. This resulted in goals in favor of the home team in the 10th and 19th minute. In the 2nd half, PSV got a better grip on the match. Everywhere on the field they managed to find the free man. In the 35th minute, from a short corner by Djurre and Mohamed Ihattaren, PSV scored the tying goal, 2-1. 10 minutes later it was again Mohamed Ihattaren who was sent deep. In doing so, he wanted to play around the goalkeeper, who then fouled Mohamed to keep him from scoring a goal. A penalty, Mohamed Ihattaren himself behind the ball and he shot coolly and hard into the right corner. Score 2-2! Just before the end of the 2nd half, Eindhoven got a free kick on the edge of the 16 which ended up behind goalkeeper Robin Verhoeven. 3-2 in favor of FC Eindhoven. This was also the score at halftime. The 3rd half was barely in progress when Jur Clabbers was sent deep by Mohamed Ihattaren and rounded off this chance without fail, 3-3. PSV pressed on but did not score in the end. Final score in this 1st play-off match 3-3. A hard-fought 1st half and a good 2nd and 3rd half. Next Saturday league champion VVV Venlo will visit PSV for the play-off championship.
