Today the E1 plays against UNA E1, the old club of Koen. We kicked off in glorious sunshine and the temperature finally rose above zero.
As usual, our boys are quick to attack. With good teamwork they try to pass the UNA defense but the first attacks are well repelled. The first dangerous shot comes from the 2nd line. Tijn sees his effort go just wide.
UNA played well and after PSV lost the ball in midfield, a quick breakthrough followed, which was rounded off with a shot that just missed the target.
Kyan throws out to Jay, who steams well on the right side and gives a nice cross to Arne. His shot is well turned away by the UNA goalkeeper.
Soon afterwards UNA gets a corner. This is well headed away by Koen. Arne gets the ball on the sideline and with a nice move he manages to get around his man and shoot at goal, unfortunately just wide. A shot by Gregory was also seen off by the UNA goalkeeper.
Moments later the goal is finally scored. Jay's corner is just right for Arne. He suddenly took the ball out of the air and put it on the crossbar. 0 - 1.
Our boys want to push on quickly, and Gregory's good interference seems to do the trick, but Arne's shot lacks precision. A distance shot by Koen was beautifully saved by the UNA goalkeeper, and after a nice passing move by Tijn, Gregory got another chance, which also went wide.
UNA, however, does not hesitate and sometimes manages to come out dangerously. From a corner the ball came in front of the goal, PSV did not get the ball away and UNA midfielder Max managed to find the net with a hard shot. 1 - 1.
PSV tries to take the lead before halftime. After a beautiful game of tag in front of the goal between Jay, Arne and Gregory, the latter shoots at goal. But again the goalkeeper saves. At halftime it is still 1 - 1.
After halftime the same picture. PSV looks for the attack, but UNA manages to disrupt it regularly.
After a few minutes in the second half Arne gets the ball, he passes to Koen, who manages to find Gregory, who is in front of the goalkeeper. He just misses the control to finish it off.
After a foul, PSV gets a free kick taken by Bryan. Just wide. The UNA goalkeeper kicks far out and the striker's shot is turned into a corner by our defense. The corner is taken sharply but Kyan saves the ball from close range.
After the resumption of play Tijn gets the ball, who passes a deep ball to Gregory. Gregory appreciates this pass and shoots the ball beautifully into the far corner. 1 - 2.
Moments later, PSV gets another corner. All along the match these are beautifully tailored by Jay. Again he managed to find the head of Gregory. His ball unfortunately goes over via the crossbar.
The opponent's play also remains dangerous, keeping things exciting. A nice attack on the left via Bryan, Arne and Tijn does not get what it deserves. And UNA manages to find the striker with a couple of quick passes from the resumption of play. Fortunately there is Bryan there who has a class defensive action.
Kyan puts the ball back in play. Bryan comes forward on the left and manages to pass to Arne just in time. Arne took care of his man and managed to find Koen. He outsmarted the UNA goalkeeper with a long distance shot that hit the crossbar. 1 - 3.
This puts the game on the line. Moments later the whistle blows for the end. We have seen an exciting match until the end, which PSV won.
