Although the weather conditions seemed to throw a spanner in the works, we were still able to kick off today. No alternative program, but just for the competition. It was chilly, but the sun and the artificial turf made the conditions fine. The home team made some changes. Benjamin and Yassin were missing due to illness. Coach Tim was not completely fit either, but he was present. Fortunately Roland was willing to fill the vacant spot. With a number of boys who had participated in the indoor tournament in Germany last week and a number who had enjoyed a weekend off, the match kicked off at 9:30 am. The visitors from Reusel boldly took control and this soon led to a goal. After the ball was not handled well, the Reusel striker took advantage of this opportunity in the 2nd minute (0-1). Less than a minute later, first Sem and then Roland took the Reusel goal under fire. Unfortunately without success. At the other end, we had to watch out for Reusel's counters. After five minutes Rico pushed the attacker well outside so his shot went wide of Pepijn's goal. The game went up and down in the first 10 minutes. A fine interception by Sem, gave Joop a chance. But his shot could only just be turned away by the goalkeeper. The next chance was also for Joop. Niels went well through on the left, his cross reached Joop who turned free. Again he found the goalkeeper in his way. Halfway through the first half Reusel Sport seemed to score the 0-2. The striker went alone to Pepijn, but with a cat-like reaction he prevented the striker from scoring. Then it was PSV's turn again. First Roland took a free kick, then Davy gave Sem a chance and a shot by Niels did not equalize either. This came just before halftime. Joey conquered a corner on the left side of the field. Davy found Joop and with a well-aimed shot he managed to outsmart the goalkeeper (1-1). After halftime, Reusel's strength seemed to drain away a bit and the home club went on the hunt for the lead. Five minutes after halftime, Sem gave his mother a nice birthday present. From the center line he took the ball on his shoe in one go and the ball flew into the cross (2-1). Four minutes later Davy seemed to decide the game, but his free kick went just over. In the 36th minute the goal was finally scored. Joey played a corner kick into the head of Davy, who nodded his effort in (3-1). The final chord was for Roland. He took a nice dropkick from Pepijn. He then turned away from his direct opponent and from about 15 meters he took an effective shot (4-1). Thus another three points were added and the title race remains open.
