Unnecessary defeat PSV O13-1 against Feyenoord
In the first league match of the new season, PSV O13-1 suffered a defeat. The team played very restless and eventually lost 2-1 to Feyenoord. The match had barely got underway when PSV already managed to create a giant chance.
Gennaro van der Sluis was stronger and faster than his opponent and was tapped under. Instead of going for the penalty kick, the striker laid the ball wide to Yani Miguel. Unfortunately, the right-winger got the ball just behind him, making his effort an easy prey for the Feyenoord goalkeeper. Not much later, the first Rotterdam opportunity came when a Feyenoord striker tapped the ball into the net in a similar situation. While PSV had no trouble creating chances in the preparation, they had plenty of problems today. Feyenoord were short of pressure and the game was far too restless for them to take advantage of the space. The 1-0 halftime score was therefore a logical result.
After the break, the game seemed to tilt rapidly. Shuryjano Cornecion, who broke through, was fouled by his opponent, who received a red card. The ensuing free kick was turned with difficulty by the goalkeeper, but in the rebound Liam Slaats was the only player on the pitch on target to put the 1-1 score on the board. PSV seemed to push on, but were dealt another blow when goalkeeper Kane Aerts stepped in too rashly and was also shown a red card. With ten against ten on the pitch and 1-1 on the board, the game was back to even, until Feyenoord were awarded a penalty ten minutes before time. Junior Martina fouled his direct opponent and the Rotterdam penalty was blown past goalkeeper Bram Heijndijk. PSV had a great chance to equalize just before the end, but a beautiful lob by Liam Slaats just managed to hit the post. Thus PSV ended this match with a 2-1 defeat.
Next Saturday the team will get the chance to recover. PSV will then host Vitesse at their own Herdgang, this match starting at 10:30 am.
