Beginning of September, so also beginning of the league. Although, competition? This season involves a series of practice matches of which Helmond Sport
today was the first in line.
After some research, it turns out that Helmond Sport is a tough customer for PSV. Several times in a mutual duel we went to the locker room.
towards the dressing room. It would be no different now, according to the home team, but the D3 had something else in mind.
The overgrown home team did not make the slightest impression on our boys who took the bull by the horns from the first whistle.
Immediately, from minute one pressure forward and everyone joined in the ambiance of the first game. Yet it was only in minute 8 that we had our
first real chance could be spoken of, Cody with a good cross, but a little too high for Ruud.
On a quickly taken free kick by Jordan Robin is launched, but a well set up defense could prevent Robin from becoming dangerous.
Next action by Cody followed by a good cross is headed away into the feet of Armando, those who know Armando know that he has pounder in the
legs, and with a bang from about ten meters outside the sixteen he makes the first goal of the "competition". 0-1.
Five minutes later the lamp club is at the party again, this time a clever ball inside from Robin to Cody, and he does not fail, 0-2. PSV on roses.
Then it falls silent again until Jordan unleashes his devils, past five Helmond Sport players, beautiful pass to Roland, who in turn serves Baggio.
But his shot goes just wide. Applause from all present, this was clever.
At halftime it is 0-2 for PSV.
A different Helmond Sport after halftime, a pep talk from the coach? We PSV supporters know this, "our" Colin can also do this, but this time was
it was not really necessary, the whole thing was well put together.
After two minutes, a first warning from Helmond Sport with a free kick, but into the arms of Stan. Immediately after the first action
Stan was able to parry the rebound, but could not prevent it from going high into the roof of the goal. 1-2.
PSV was not impressed by this tying goal, and went back on the attack. This pays off, because after an effort and cross
from Robin, the home goalkeeper cannot hold on to the ball. And then when you have one Kartalozzi in the ranks you know, he is well followed and taps
the ball relentlessly inside. 1-3.
On a too short kick out from the home goalkeeper Ruud is on the mark, he takes the ball in thanks but decides on a defender. Bad luck for Ruud.
Steady stages are still dangerous in front of goal, both for the home team and the visitors. Now the home team is behind a free kick,
but again it's Stan who can neutralize the danger.
On a too short back play by Helmond Sport, Cody is able to intervene, pass to Roland, but he decides a little too weakly on goal.
On a counterattack by the home team with the rather fast striker and captain (no. 9), Stan has to give in and it becomes 2-3. Tension prevails.
PSV now in the attack again with Rafael, good cross to Bjorn, but he comes just a bit too short to score.
A HS attack right through the heart of the defense, again a save from Stan, who could distinguish himself today. And did so with brio.
Another hot stand in front of the PSV goal, but now Jordan can clear.
The very last chance is still for PSV, but Raphael decides on the crossbar.
Final score 2-3. First victory in the "league" for the D3. In the first half, PSV was the better of Helmond Sport, but the home team can look back on a
good second period and might have deserved something more than a defeat.
