    The Report

    Within one minute, Ajax already had a good opportunity to open the score, but this chance was not taken advantage of. In the counter attack, PSV had an opportunity but the shot went just wide. In the first 10 minutes of the match, the game went back and forth although Ajax had the best opportunities. Ajax then took control and PSV was forced into defense. In possession of the ball, PSV was sloppy which prevented them from really getting into the game. In the 18th minute the home club had a good opportunity to take the lead, but the ball was shot over from five meters out. A few minutes later Ajax did take the lead. A shot from the edge of the penalty area ended up in the ropes, 1-0. Even after this goal, the game situation did not change. Ajax continued to dominate and that resulted in another goal for the home team after half an hour. After losing the ball in PSV's midfield, Ajax was able to score the 2-0.

    PSV started the second half better, making the match more balanced. No real chances were created by either side in the early stages. After fifteen minutes, Ajax had a good chance, but the PSV goalie saved the effort. Ajax then went ahead and had some opportunities that were not taken advantage of. In the last ten minutes of the match, PSV still pressed but did not manage to create any real chances. The opportunities that were created were not played well so Ajax was not in trouble again. Three minutes before the end, the game was definitely decided. After a deep ball through the center of PSV's defense, the Ajax attacker rounded the goalkeeper and shot 3-0. In injury time, PSV had another opportunity to score from a corner but Jesse Giebels' header was cleared off the line by an Ajax player.
