The report
An important match for PSV O19 this Saturday, as Mark van Bommel's team had lost its last two league matches against FC Volendam and Feyenoord, respectively. Those two results put PSV O19 just three points above the danger zone. Only a place in the first eight is enough to qualify for the Champions Pool.
PSV O19 started the match strongly, giving a clear signal to sc Heerenveen that the points would really go to Eindhoven today. With a few nice attacks and a shot from 20 meters by Cody Gapko on the crossbar, the first goal for PSV could not be long away. In the 27th minute, a nice combination between Gapko, Joël Piroe and Justin Lonwijk, was shot in by the latter without fail: 0-1. sc Heerenveen, which did not get any further than a few long balls to the striker, could not make a fist of it. In the 37th minute, PSV hit the target again. A long-distance shot from the side by Cody Gapko was not handled well by the goalkeeper and in the rebound it was Zakaria Aboukhlal who coolly shot the 0-2. Not much later it was again Gapko who was at the base of a goal, only this time he did it all by himself. From a distance of 20 meters he curled the ball into the corner and PSV O19 could go into the break with a comfortable 0-3 lead.
PSV O19 also had frequent possession of the ball after the break. This resulted in a nice attack that ended with Steven Theunissen, who fired the ball hard into the fists of the Heerenveen goalie. In the 61st minute the goal did come. After beautiful combination play by Michal Sadilek and Piroe, the latter shot the ball from 25 low into the corner: 0-4. Naturally, PSV O19 did not give the game away and was able to finish the remainder of the match calmly. And so at last three points could be added. The next match is a home game on Saturday, November 18 against Ajax. Kickoff: 2 p.m.
