Bad day PSV O14
After a fine victory in the midweek game against AZ, the away game against ADO Den Haag was scheduled for Saturday. PSV O14, still in the battle for the championship, would have a tough afternoon there. The championship aspirations can be put on ice after this match. They lost 6-3 to the hosts from The Hague.
The physically much stronger ADO got off to a strong start, PSV lost track. By halftime, the Eindhoven players were trailing 3-0. No organization at the back on corner kicks earned ADO two goals. The third goal fortunately fell from a corner, but too many PSV players were watching and did not intervene. There were some small chances for PSV, but a shot from Emir Bars hit the crossbar and after a good cross from Jason van Duiven, Nicolas Verkooijen just couldn't work the ball in.
PSV started the second half brighter, but two minutes later ADO managed to make their fourth already, the Hagenezen got a free shooting chance from about twenty-five meters. In the forty-fourth minute, after another fumble at the back of PSV and it became 5-0. PSV straightened up and managed to come back to 5-3. In the sixty-fifth minute ADO Den Haag played back to PSV after a free kick, but instead of a PSV player grabbing the ball, the ADO striker ran with it and made it 6-1. This incident fit perfectly into the match for PSV and could have been added to.
Wednesday afternoon already awaits the next game, away to NAC, and with the knowledge of Saturday in their heads, PSV will have to show more there if they want to remain in contention for the championship.
