    Match report:
Today was the day. The championship match of PSV D1 for season 2012-2013. The first competitor for the title, Willem II D1, was eliminated. The second competitor, MVV D1, had previously tied with PSV, but was out of football. So, a point was enough, but in the worst possible scenario, a defeat today at relegation candidate RODA JC meant a decider. RODA JC itself had to win.
Both sides started nervously and had good chances. PSV's goalkeeper kept his team on their feet with 2 saves, while at the other end the crossbar saved the RODA goalkeeper and the same goalkeeper prevented a certain goal by PSV moments later. PSV cautiously built up a field advantage and finally scored after a corner kick from a seemingly impossible angle. RODA JC seemed ripe for demolition. But, on the third consecutive neglect in the PSV defense, RODA produced the not entirely undeserved equalizer just before halftime.
After halftime, PSV had the defense in better shape and did not give away any more chances either. However, in attack PSV was far too sloppy or perhaps far too nervous. Finally the spell was broken, because 10 minutes before time PSV scored the deserved, liberating and thus winning goal via a magnificent lob. RODA JC lacked power, footballing ability and especially faith. The championship was now really in PSV's bag. After the final whistle came the excitement. On the field one could see joy and sadness at the same time. PSV was champion and RODA JC was relegated.

    Congratulations again with the championship!
