The Report
Due to the busy schedule of PSV O13, the cup game against Brabant United will be played on a Tuesday night. A draw against the same team was played two weeks ago, so it could be a tough task to reach the semifinals of the cup tournament.
But judging by PSV's bright start, coach Tim Wolf has his team well on edge. And let them know that everything will have to be done today to advance in the cup. PSV gets off to a good start. Jaivy Lourens gets a great chance in the 2nd minute from a cross by Ruben van Bommel, who with his speed manages to get to the back line and passes the ball well. But the Brabant United goalkeeper saved. But one minute later it is a winner, a corner kicked in by Thijn van der Meijs. And three minutes later the lead is further extended by an attack out of the book. From back to front, from right to left in five passes and shot hard into the goal by Jaivy Lourens. In the 12th minute Van Bommel gets to take another corner from the left side. He turns the ball towards the goal in the same way as in the first goal. Only now it is Sven Simons who works the ball behind the goalkeeper. After the 3-0 it is PSV that continues to dominate but does not score anymore. They go to the dressing rooms with a nice lead before half time.
After halftime, PSV is a little less careful in ball possession, but PSV's defenders are unpassable today and don't budge. In the 44th minute, it is again Van Bommel who gets to the back line, and delivers a good cross. Before a PSV player can even get his head to it, a Brabant United player unhappily heads the ball into his own goal. Two minutes later it is Jesper Uneken who can tap the ball in, at first he hits the post, but he is attentive and manages to score in the second instance. All in all a good victory, now we have to wait and see what the draw will bring, but there are some nice opponents. And if you are that close, the final should be the goal.
