The Report
Final number six. And again a visit comes to De Herdgang, Sparta is the name. A tough opponent as we know, but the objective has remained the same. So the focus is completely on this match. Sparta is a tough opponent, but the preparation was good.
The start is bright and after twenty minutes it is Joey who fumbles in the sixteen and finally gets the ball to Jaell Hattu and he slides the first goal into the net just like last week: 1-0. A very deserved lead. We want more but as mentioned before, Sparta is a tough opponent. However, it should be mentioned that they don't really get a chance either, or actually not a single chance. So in the second half we really want to close the door, because a 1-0 lead is only meager and a ball can just fall somewhere and then we have to start all over again. But we are better and Sparta can't really make a fist, although we have to wait until five minutes before the end for Amar to get through to the back line and cross. At first the ball is worked out of the sixteen, but there stands Michal Sadilek who crowns a fantastic game with a distance shot from over twenty meters. And the ball hits the ropes like a grenade behind the goalkeeper: 2-0. A well-deserved goal for Michal. Professionally we play out the match. The points remain at De Herdgang today. Almost halfway through this championship round and we are still in a spot that offers good prospects of a good final result.
Next week the opponent is AZ, who are not coming to the Herdgang but that is where we are going. Then the trip to Italy for a tournament where we can show that we can stand our ground internationally.
Lineup: Van de Meulenhof, Teze, Soulas, Obispo, Tanriver ( 87th Theunissen), Sadilek, Konings (78th Catic), Hattu, Piroe, Lonwijk and Gakpo.
