    The Report

    In the beginning of the match both teams could not create any chances. NAC put pressure early on but PSV could find the free man quite easily so they did not get into trouble. In the ninth minute the lead came out of nowhere for the home team. A corner pass passed some players and a NAC player worked the ball into the goal, 1-0. NAC dropped back a bit and PSV got more power. In the 19th minute this resulted in the deserved equalizer. Jesse Giebels went through on the left side and played the ball to Milan van de Riet. Milan played the ball in front of the goal and Jesse, who went through well, was able to score easily, 1-1. In the remaining part of the first half both teams did not give away many chances. A few minutes before half time PSV had the best opportunity to score but this chance was not taken. With a 1-1 score both teams went to rest.

    The second half presented a very different picture of the game. PSV started strongly and that resulted in the lead after only five minutes. After a nice cross ball from Mylian Jimenez to Mohamed Nassoh, Mohamed played the ball to Martijn Zuijderwijk, who got free in front of the NAC goalie. Martijn did not let this opportunity go unused, giving PSV the 1-2 lead. In the ten minutes that followed, PSV had several opportunities to score but were just too late or the crossbar saved the game. PSV was in control of the game but forgot to score a goal in this phase which kept the home club alive. NAC also took advantage of this. From the 50th minute on NAC started to take more risks at the back but PSV easily held their own in this phase. PSV tried to create danger with quick breaks but were unsuccessful. In the last ten minutes of the match NAC went all out and tried to force a goal with long balls. In injury time NAC went close to an equalizer, but the shot hit the inside of the post and went out of the goal, giving PSV the three points.
