It's cold, it's wet, it's nasty weather. One of those days that doesn't seem to go by. And on such a day we play away from NEC. There is no good play, bad play, no good passes and too low a tempo. It is messy. In the first half there are a few chances from Antonio and Anthony but they have no luck and the ball goes wide. Elvio also tries his luck but the score remains 0 - 0. A first half to forget quickly, just like the rest of the day, and let's continue in the second half. The second half resulted in a free kick by Tufan, but no goal. Anthony's luck was also not on his side and the goalkeeper turned his effort away. The last ten minutes are the most beautiful and the most exciting, especially for the public but also for the bench players. NEC miraculously hit the post a couple of times and they also fail to score from a scrimmage. So we end as we started with a 0 - 0 score on the scoreboard. Before the start, NEC would have been very happy with a point and PSV only satisfied with three points. Afterwards, PSV was happy with a point and NEC felt they gave away two points. And so an end comes to a day that just didn't seem to pass.
Next week we have the clapper against Ajax and if we do not want the gap to become too big (now six points) we will have to win. This is possible because we have the class and we showed it during the Otten Cup. So on to next week, to a full stadium and on to the three points and hopefully different weather than today. Good luck.
