At Sportcomplex 'Tussen de Leijen', PSV took the initiative from the kickoff. Directly in the first minute, PSV already had the opportunity to score. However, the ball went wide. In the third minute, PSV had a second opportunity to score. This time the ball was headed against the crossbar. A goal was inevitable. This happened in the fourth minute. A corner was taken short. The resulting cross was released by the goalkeeper. Shurandy headed the ball in (0-1). PSV kept JEKA under pressure and the first 20 minutes of the match took place entirely on JEKA's half. PSV should have extended the score in this part of the match but several chances were not taken advantage of. After 20 minutes, JEKA's first attack was turned away. A few minutes later, JEKA did manage to score. A free kick fell behind the PSV defense. Due to a misunderstanding in the PSV defense, the ball was not cleared. JEKA took advantage and made it 1-1. The first opportunity in the second half was for JEKA. However, this opportunity was not taken. A free kick by PSV hit the crossbar and a shot on the post prevented PSV from taking the lead again. The lead did come in the 41st minute. An attack on the left was shot by Aboubacar into the far corner of the goal (1-2). PSV maintained the field advantage but did not create any more chances. JEKA tried to force something in the final minutes but this did not lead to any danger so it became a narrow victory for PSV.
