  1. Match report

    The report

For PSV O15, the fourth match in 10 days was on the schedule. And not just any match. In Amsterdam, Edwin de Wijs' team faced Ajax. An opponent they have faced twice before this season and both times PSV drew the short end. For the Super Cup, PSV lost 2-1 and in Eindhoven it lost 2-4 after coming back from a 0-3 deficit to 2-3, but lost in the end.

The start of the match was dramatic from the PSV side. After 40 seconds it was already 1-0 due to a mistake at the back. PSV was thus immediately behind. It came a step too late everywhere and it was therefore not surprising that Ajax soon made it 2-0. Again, unfortunately, an individual error in the last line was the basis of the goal. PSV was lucky that Ajax did not push on and could not really do anything in return. Not a single shot was taken on goal in the first half.

In the second half, they had to draw from a different keg. At least PSV had the ball more and longer than in the first 35 minutes. But again they were unable to create any clear-cut chances. Neither could Ajax, but they did manage to score once.

PSV thus deservedly lost 3-0 in a game in which it had absolutely nothing to play for. Next weekend the O15 plays at home against ADO Den Haag. The first chance to wash away this hangover.

Setup: Aron van Lare (c); D'Leanu Arts (55' Milan Vossen), Jenson Seelt, Jesse Giebels (36' Livano Comenencia), Nawaaz Landfeld; Mylian Jimenez, Dylan Hopman (43' Martijn Zuijderwijk), Dyon Dorenbosch (24' Ruben van Bommel); Iggy Houben, Milan van de Riet, Mohamed Nassoh (59' Cel Teunen).
